Several have asked why they need to register, create a password, and answer questions to participate in the SpeakUpNaples.com initiative. We totally understand. But this is why it is important. Let us explain the reasoning, and hopefully you will agree this small annoyance is worth the effort.
Registration, including email address and password, is required -- first and foremost -- to protect the integrity of the process. We need to make sure that our platform and our process is filled with actual people who care about the community, and stop the possibility of the process being dominated by bots, phony accounts or special interests. Additionally, it ensures we are able to:
Protect our members’ privacy (remember, you can choose a screen name)
Ascertain each email, which is confirmed, is attached to a real person
Prevent surveys from being completed multiple times
Ensure the site is not flooded with spambots attempting to influence outcomes and distort the process
Allow us to monitor, in real time, that we are indeed hearing from all Naples residents: full-time residents, seasonal residents, young families, senior citizens, business owners, etc.
The Naples CRA Board, CRA Advisory Board and DPZ CoDESIGN will use the insights here to help inform the shaping of the 41-10 Master plan, and set the direction for the Naples Design District community for the future. It’s really important the input we are getting is coming from the people these decisions will impact. We hope this makes our reasoning clear and we hope you decide to participate - we need your input!
If you have any further questions or have problems with the registration process, please contact irina@iwprgroup.com or call 203-832-6773.
Thank you.
